India Post released a stamp on Lalit Kala Akademy on 31st Dec.2010. This is the second stamp to be released with the Rupee Symbol and will be the last stamp along with the stamp of Sekernar for this year.

Ice Breaker - Fennica

This is a maxim card, which I received through Postcrossing of the Ice Breaker - Ms Fennica. The cancellation is of ABOEX 94 a philatelic exhibition held in 1994.

 This was a perfect gift for me and a great way to wish me a Happy New Year 2011.

National Council of Education & Dr.Triguna Sen

India Post released a se-tenant stamp of  National Council of Education and Dr. Triguna Sen on 24th Dec.2010.

Dr. Triguna Sen was born on 24 December 1905 at Solhet (now part of Bangladesh) he was an eminent educationist ardent freedom fighter able administrator and good parliamentarian.  He was instrumental in establishing Jadavpur University at Kolkatta.  He was elected President Alumni Association of National Council of Education Bengal, Jadavpur University.  He was also Union Minister for education and Minister for Petroleum for brief spell.  He passed away on 11th January 1998.

Central Bank Of India & Bhai Jeevan Singh

India Post released two stamps on 23nd Dec.2010 on Central Bank Of India and Bhai Jeevan Singh.

Central Bank of India was founded on 21st December 1911 by Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala a visionary.  It was his dream of setting up a ‘Swadeshi bank’ owned by Indians and for Indians.  On founding the Bank, Sir Sorabji proclaimed with pride that Central Bank was property of the Nation and the country’s asset. After the independence, the bank played a laudable role in the growth and development of country and improving the socio-economic status of people. Central Bank of India is celebrating its centenary year during December 2010.

Crafts Museum

A set of 2 stamp and a miniature sheet was released by India Post on 21st Dec. 2010 on Crafts Museum.

The Crafts Museum was established in 1956 as a resource centre for traditional Indian handicrafts and handlooms.  The aim of the Museum is to preserve Indian art or ethnography and to build a collection of craft specimens.  The Museum is housed in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi under aegis of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, and Government of India.

 The Museum has a collection of 32000 artifacts.  Research and Development has been a regular activity of the Crafts Museum.  The Museum has completed 53 years of service in the field of handicrafts and handlooms and rendered yeoman service in the promotion of Indian heritage and culture.

Mexico-India Joint Release

The Mexican version of the Joint issue was released in Mexico a day after the stamp was released in India. The stamp is of 7 Pesos each.


Pre-Release of a stamp which is yet to be leased of Yashwant Rao Chavan is reported by a reader. The date of 12th Dec 2010 is visible but the place is not.

India - Mexico Joint issue

India Post released a set of 2 stamp and a Miniature sheet of 15th Dec.2010 to commemorate 60 years of India - Mexico diplomatic relations.

India and Mexico, both vibrant and pluralistic democracies, established diplomatic relations in 1950 and completed 60 years. The stamps  depicts the Kalbelia dance of Rajasthan, India and Jarabe Tapatio, the national dance of Mexico.

Cloth Stamp from India !

It has been decided that India will release its first ever stamp on Cloth, which will be printed on khadi and it will bear the image of  Mahatma Gandhi.This stamp will be issued during the Indipex 2011.

Naval Dockyard, Mumbai

 A special cover was released 6th October to celebrate 275 years of glorious service of the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.

India Post released a stamp on Kamlapat Singhania on 1st December 2010. He was a businessman who contributed to the growth of Indian Industry and awakened the entrepreneurial zeal among the average Indian . He was the founder of JK group of Industries and also established the Marwari College in Kanpur to promote higher education in the region.
