Fauna of Russia - Wild cats.

Russia Post released a set of 3 stamp on The Wild cats of Russia on 7th November 2014.

Snow leopard: Snow leopard are the only kind of big cats that have adapted to dwell in the harsh conditions of high mountains (in Russia it is found in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia, Tyva and Altai Republic, in the mountains of Eastern Sayan, in particular on the ridges Tunka range and Munku- Sardyk).

The Far Eastern leopard: It is now on the verge of extinction. This is the rarest subspecies (distributed in mountain taiga forests of the Far East, near the borders of three countries - Russia, China and North Korea).

Amur Tiger : (Ussuri or Far East) - the largest tiger in the world and the only one who has mastered life in the snow. Also, one of the smallest subspecies listed in the Red Book (its area is concentrated in a protected area in the south-east of Russia, on the banks of the Amur and Ussuri rivers in the Khabarovsk and Primorye territories).
