First long-duration space flight

Russia Post released a stamp of  German Titov on 5th August 2016 to celebrate 55 years of the first long-duration space flight.

In August 1961, German Titov, a pilot-cosmonaut, driving a space ship "Vostok-2", made the second in the Astronautics history of the world, after the flight of Yuri Gagarin, breaking more than 700 thousand km and making 17 turnovers around the Earth. It was the first record of the duration of being in space. During this time German Titov has successfully carried out several scientific experiments, made the first photo of the Earth from the space and on the personal example proved that people can live and work in space.
