Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College & Hospital, Bengaluru is
commemorating Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Birth Anniversary by releasing this
special cover on 14th April 2018.
Bharatha Rathna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar popularly known as Baba Saheb Ambedkar was an eminent jurist who fought to eradicate social evils like untouchability and caste restrictions. He is called as the "Father of Indian Constitution" who fought for the rights of Dalits and other downtrodden classes. He relentlessly fought along with other national leaders to ensure liberty, fraternity and unity of all section of the society.
With the patronage of the Government of Karnataka, Ananda Social & Educational Trust established and manages the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College & Hospital, Mathrushri Ramabai Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital and Mathrushri Bheemabai Ambedkar College of Nursing and other Paramedical courses covering diploma, graduate and post graduate studies and research. The educational and health services of the colleges and hospitals are availed by thousands of students, patients with the help of eminent doctors and staff with all professional and technical facilities. Free health services are provided to the poor and needy people.
